Write documents in your browser and edit them with other people at the same time. Comment, suggest changes, go back to an earlier version whenever you need to, and download the finished document as PDF or Word.

Everyone with edit access can work in the same document at once, and you see each other's cursors as you type. Switch between Editing, Suggesting and Viewing whenever you like.
Comment on any part of a document, reply in threads and @mention people to notify them. In Suggesting mode, select text and propose new wording that can be accepted or rejected.
Headings, lists, checklists, tables, images, links, equations, bookmarks, page breaks and special characters. Set the paper size, orientation, page colour, headers and footers, page numbers and a watermark.
Invite people by email as Viewer, Commenter or Editor, or create a link with an optional password and expiry date. You can also make a document public so anyone can read it.
While you edit, Docs saves a version automatically every 10 minutes. Name the versions that matter, compare any two and restore an earlier one.

If a paid plan ends, your documents stay readable and downloadable for 90 days.
Compare plansOwner, Editor, Commenter and Viewer rights are enforced by the server, including during live editing. Only editors can change a document, and without access it simply isn't there.
A share link can carry a password and an expiry date, and password attempts are rate-limited. Turning a link off stops it working.
Imported files and shared pages are stripped of scripts before anyone sees them, and uploaded images are checked to be real images, not just named like one.
An invitation to an email address is only redeemed by an account whose address Motaware has verified, so nobody can claim your share by signing up with someone else's email.
Yes. Create a share link, optionally with a password and an expiry date, or make the document public. Anyone can read it without an account; to comment or edit through a link, they sign in with a free Motaware account.
Yes. Import Word (.docx), Markdown, HTML and plain-text files as editable documents, and download any document as PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML or plain text.
Open Version history from the File menu. Docs saves a version every 10 minutes while you edit, and you can name your own. Preview or compare any version, then restore it.
Not yet. Comments, replies, mentions, shares and suggestions show up as notifications inside Docs.
Nothing is deleted straight away. Docs becomes read-only for 90 days: you can still open and download everything. Subscribe again to make changes. See Pricing for the plans.
